This is a selection of lectures, which normally take about two hours, including a break. They are illustrated by 80 slides showing both contemporary and historical views of London. Describes the palaces and mansions that used to line the Thames from Westminster to Blackfriars and the buildings that have replaced them today.

Covers the life and art of William Hogarth and the London of his time. .

Christopher Wren’s London.
Covers the life and architecture of Sir Christopher Wren and his impact on the rebuilding of London following the Great Fire. .

History of London’s Docklands.
Covers the origins of the Port of London in medieval times, through the expansion of the great inland docks in the 9th Century to their decline and regeneration in the 20th Century.
London’s Hidden Waterways.
Recounts the history of the Thames tributaries, many of which have now become underground sewers.
